Demolition phase
Demo produces the heaviest, densest waste in the shortest window. Have the container on site before the first wall comes down.
Rough-in phase
Volume drops sharply. This is where a single container often sits half full for a week and where extending the rental beats swapping.
Finish phase
Packaging, cardboard and offcuts are bulky but light. A larger container is cheaper here than two small ones.
A realistic timeline
For a typical kitchen remodel, plan one 20 yard container delivered the day before demo and picked up after finish carpentry, with an extension if the schedule slips.
