Shingles are heavy
A square of standard asphalt shingles weighs roughly 250 pounds, and a second layer adds the same again. Twenty squares of two-layer roofing is around five tons.
Size by weight, not volume
A 20 yard container full of shingles will hit its weight limit long before it looks full. Ask for a shingle-specific weight allowance.
Placement decides your labor cost
A container positioned within a few feet of the drop zone can cut a crew's cleanup time in half.
Protect the landscaping
Plywood over shrubs and a tarp on the ground catches the nails that always miss the container.
